Good to see in today's FT that Oxera's research for the European Commission has proved what many of us have known for years: you actually make industry more uncompetitive by subsidising or protecting it. A future Conservative government must never be one that picks winners, bails out famous brands, nationalises failing industries, etc. We are the party of the free market and competition or we are nothing.

Progressive Conservatives will act as a voice for the proud traditions of classical liberals in the Conservative Party. We are proud of the Conservative Party’s past in securing economic prosperity for Britain, but we also embrace the modern age with all the diversity this brings.
